  2. Mark the text e.g. web page

  3. Click on the "Insert a Link" icon: Insert a Link Icon

  4. You can either:

    1. Type the web address you want to link to in the URL box

    2. or easier, and less liable to be inaccurate through mistyping:

      1. Open a new tab or window in your browser

      2. Load the web page you want to link to.

      3. Mark and COPY the web page address onto your clipboard

      4. Click in the URL Box and PASTE the web address into the URL Box.

(Don’t worry that it automatically strips the "http://" from the beginning – it will still include it!)

  5. Select the "Target" tab.

  6. Click on "not set" and select “New Window (_blank)” from the dropdown menu.

  7. Hopefully, you have done it, so click “OK”. The text you marked in step 2 will now have a hyperlink attached to it, so readers wil be able to click on the link and open a new tab or window with your chosen page.
