NABO Responds to Water Resources Strategy Consultation
NABO wishes to congratulate CRT on both the approach to, and contents of, this very fine and pioneering strategy-development exercise. The process of consulting the prime users of the waterways is exemplary and the proposals made are well-supported by evidence-based analysis and the use of best practice engineering techniques.

We are delighted to learn that Debbie Lumb, previously Head of Museums and Attractions and another highly respected ex- waterway manager (for the North West), has joined the newly-formed CRT Customer Service Team, working for Dean Davies as the Customer Service Project Manager.
BSS alert boaters to 6KG CALOR LITE® cylinder recall
The Boat Safety Scheme (BSS) is supporting Calor Gas Ltd to alert any boaters to the immediate product recall on all 6kg CalorLite® cylinders manufactured between 2008 – 2011 inclusively, following concerns regarding the potential deterioration of the cylinder.

Aylesbury Canal Society move into new Club facilities building
The new facilities building and club headquarters for Aylesbury Canal Society at Circus Field basin on the edge of Aylesbury was formally handed over to Society Chairman Bryan Barnes ( left) on 12 September by Peter Hubbard of the builders, Lodge Park Construction Limited.
Go ahead for Thames super sewer
Environmental charities and amenity groups representing over 5 million people who have been campaigning for a cleaner Thames in London have today welcomed the decision of the government to go ahead with the long awaited and much needed Thames Tideway Tunnel.
APPG Waterways report on CRT’s performance
The All Party Parliamentary Group for Waterways (APPG) Inquiry into the Progress of the Canal and River Trust has just published its report, following its meeting in July. Although NABO was not invited to give verbal evidence, the written evidence provided by us features extensively in this encouraging report.
