Canal & River Trust
The transition trustees of the new charity being established to tend 2,000 miles of canals and rivers in England and Wales from April 2012 have today (6 October) announced that it will be called the Canal & River Trust (or Glandwr Cymru in Wales) and have unveiled its new symbol.
No new enforcement powers being sought by NWC
In response to concerns raised by members, NABO sought assurance from British Waterways (via the BW Advisory Forum) and direct from DEFRA that BW will not be allowed to seek additional boating enforcement powers if the transfer of engagement to the New Waterways Charity go ahead.
