Trustees wanted for the New Waterways Charity

Transition Trustees (3-4 days a month) are being recruited for the New Waterways Charity which will replace British Waterways by April 2012.

The Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) seeks to appoint seven ‘transition trustees’ (who will include three members of the British Waterways board, to ensure continuity) from April this year.

Candidates will bring significant board level experience in large and complex organisations (in any sector). Specific areas of expertise that are particularly sought after include business and finance, heritage, sustainability and the environment, civil engineering, volunteering and community engagement, fund-raising and navigation and boating.
